Swimming Pools & Pool Areas

In the Algarve, where the sun shines 300 days a year, going to the beach or hanging by the pool are some of the most popular activities, both for locals and tourists.

While beaches are easily accessible, finding a public swimming pool might present a challenge. However, we have managed to find some options which will make your holiday in Ferragudo unforgettable.

Vitor’s Village

Within a two minutes’ walk of your Ferragudo rental, the pool area at the hotel Vitor’s Village might be a good option on warmer days. Unlike other hotels, Vitor’s Village allows non-residents to use the pool area, albeit for a small fee.

Since there are two swimming pools available, one for adults and the other for children, this hotel’s pool area welcomes families of all ages. Also, the sunbeds displayed around the pools provide a relaxing environment for those looking to stay away from the crowds at the beach.

Bathing suits and sandals, or flip-flops, are the mandatory dress code. However, it is recommended to wear light clothes over your swimwear if you intend to take advantage of the hotel’s services. Taking your beach towel and sunscreen is also recommended as the hotel does not provide these items.

Should you feel hungry, the restaurant Purple provides a buffet breakfast served in the morning. while dinner is available in the evening.

During lunchtime, the snack bar presents a menu mostly composed of light meals, which you can enjoy at the terrace while overlooking the swimming pool. This area will only be available weather permitting.

The Vitor’s Village resort is closed during winter. To plan your visit, it is recommended you reserve your seat in advance.

Nosolo Água

In Praia da Rocha, close by the Marina, there is Nosolo Água, a public beach club with a swimming pool overlooking the Arade River, Praia Grande and the lighthouses. For a small entry fee, you can enjoy this captivating view.

Getting here is quite easy since it is possible to use the taxi ferry across the river and within minutes you have arrived at your destination.

The salt-water pool welcomes guests during the summer months, where visitors get to relax on one of the sunbeds available and enjoy a poolside cocktail. If you get hungry, the Nosolo Água pool bar provides light meals throughout the day.

However, if you are looking to try something else, the Nosolo Água restaurant presents a menu where Mediterranean cuisine meets Japanese, Indian and Mexican culinary traditions. There are also sushi options and an oyster bar. Every Wednesday, Nosolo Água presents live music, ranging from blues to bossa nova, and fado.

At Nosolo Água, beachwear is the recommended dress code, as well as flip-flops or sandals. Although beach towels are provided by Nosolo Água, you are welcome to use your own.
